A Hymn to Jesus the Son.

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. (Hebrews 1.3)

“The Son is the outshining of who God really is.” (Cockerill, 94)

In Thee most perfectly expressed

The Father’s glories shine;

Of the full deity possessed

Eternally divine;

True image of the infinite,

Whose presence is concealed;

Brightness of uncreated light;

The heart of God revealed.

Throughout the universe of bliss,

The centre Thou, and sun;

The eternal theme of praise is this

To heaven’s beloved Son.

Worthy O Lamb of God, art Thou;

That every knee to Thee should bow.
